About JV Landscaping
JV stands for Joel Velazquez. The crew started in Riverton around 2003 — one truck, one Velazquez, a lot of Kentucky bluegrass and a sprinkler clock that needed re-wiring.
Two decades later it's six of us. Same phone number. Same trucks rolling out of the same driveway off Bangerter at six in the morning. We pick up the line, we show up when we say, and we don't tell you to call a specialist for something we can already do.
The full list is on the next page — twelve services, all under one roof. If your yard needs it through the year, we already handle it.
Twelve services, one phone call. That's the whole pitch.

Everything outdoors — Riverton
Most outfits do three things and refer the rest. We do all twelve, in-house, the same crew on every visit.
Bed lines, plantings, grading. From a single front-bed refresh to a full new build.
Same slot, same crew, every week. Kentucky bluegrass cut taller through July.
April turn-on, mid-season fixes, October blowout before the freeze.
Core-aerate spring or fall. Loosens compaction, lets water and fertilizer down.
Weed control, pre-emergent, top-dress, overseed. The full season-long rotation.
One-time pulls, fence-line treatment, gravel bed knock-down. Yard or driveway.
Annual mulch refresh in beds. Decorative gravel and xeriscape rock by the yard.
Strip the old, prep the grade, roll the new. Mostly Kentucky bluegrass / fescue blends.
Shrubs, saplings, perennials. Sourcing, placement, planting, water-in.
Four-step seasonal schedule — early spring, late spring, summer, winterizer.
Spring: bed cut-in, debris haul, first mow. Fall: leaf pulls, gutter sweep, bed cap.
Residential drives and walks. Two-inch trigger. We're already up at six.
One phone number for all twelve.
(801) 893-1148Three we get asked about most
Out of the twelve, these three drive the calendar. The rest fill in around them.
Mow, edge, blow, trim, hauled-out. Kentucky bluegrass cut taller through July heat. Same crew, same slot, same morning every week.
April turn-on every zone tested at full pressure. October blowout, lines pulled to dry before the freeze. Repairs in between.
Residential driveways and walks. We're already up at six. Big storms get two and three passes through the event.
Twenty minutes, controller to manifold to heads.
Sprinkler specialty
Most irrigation calls don’t need a guess. A controller, a multimeter, a pressure gauge, and a walk of the heads will name the failure inside twenty minutes. Joel runs the diagnostic himself — it’s the part of the trade he’s done longest.
Controller test
Every zone fired from the box. Watching for clicks at the manifold versus dead air.
Solenoid + wire
Multimeter at each valve. Cut wires, bad solenoids, and corroded splices show up here.
Pressure + heads
PSI at the source, then walk the heads. Clogged nozzles, broken risers, drifted spray pattern.
Named cause
Written diagnosis on the spot, with parts. Most fixes happen the same visit.
How a call goes
Joel or one of the crew picks up. If we're under a hood we'll call back same day.
We come out, take a look, ask the questions that change the number. Free for any work inside the service area.
Plain number, line-item, no surprise upsells. Most jobs land within a week or two.
We pick a window with you and show up in it. Big jobs run multiple days; the crew stays consistent.
We don't leave until you've walked it and nodded. Cash, card, Venmo, Zelle.
That’s it. No portals, no logins — a phone call or an email is all it takes.
Where we run trucks
Riverton is home base. The trucks roll Bangerter and Mountain View Corridor most days; Wasatch foothills to the east, the I-15 line on the far side of Draper. We don't haul up the canyon grade and we don't take Sandy routes — staying tight on the south county keeps response time honest.
Sketch only — not to scale. Routes shift by season.

Showed up on time, got the job done quick on short notice, had great pricing and went above and beyond. Will call again.
Joel ran a full sprinkler diagnosis on a system the last guy gave up on. Found a broken wire under the lawn in maybe fifteen minutes.
We've used JV for everything — mow, mulch, fall cleanup, and a sod install last fall. Same crew every time, which is rare.
Plowed our cul-de-sac at 5:30 a.m. after the December storm. Truck was already there when we opened the blinds.
Family-owned. Licensed and insured. Honest estimate, no upsell. That's why we keep them.

In-house, the same crew. Joel runs irrigation diagnostics himself; the rest of the team handles mow / sod / mulch / plow with cross-trained roles. The truck that mows your yard in July is the same truck that plows your driveway in January.
